“a couple o' classics"
 
this week we pay tribute to two classic varietals: sauvignon blanc and syrah. both originate in france – sauvignon blanc in bordeaux and syrah in the rhone valley – and although these two regions are still their best expression, both have proven versatile enough for worldwide cultivation. while climate and terroir play an important role in the characteristics of these two classics, both have signature attributes that define them: sauvignon blanc usually drinks dry and minerally with a slight catnip nose, and syrah, with its dark berry flavors, tends to be medium to full bodied and slightly peppery. both of these grapes share the ability to age well. our flights this week illustrate three different versions of each of these two classics!
